“Ex libris Patrum Basilianorum”: do historii księgozbiorów prywatnych bazylianów prowincij ruskiej w drugiej połowie XVIII w.

Almost every Basilian monastery of the early modern period had its own library. Additionally, some monks had books among their possesions, although a rule forbade owning private items. This is confirmed by the bookplates containing information on the owners of the books. Monk's private collections are the most credible representation of priest's reading, especially among an order's elite. Research conducted in the libraries of Ukraine (Lviv, Kyiv and Ternopil) and Poland (Warsaw, Wroclaw) discovered over 59 Basilian bookplates, which confirmed that "western practices" of the books marking were accepted by Basilians in the second half of the 18th Century. There were analysed as one of the important sources of knowledge about the history of monk's private collections
